Jacob Zenn

Jacob Zenn is an analyst of African and Eurasian Affairs for The Jamestown Foundation and consultant on countering violent extremism, international law of freedom of association, socio-cultural analysis for geospatial visualization. He is a non-resident research fellow of the Center for Shanghai Cooperation Organization Studies in Shanghai, China and a specialist in the international law and best practices related to the freedom of association. Mr. Zenn has written on international law and security for Terrorism Monitor, Militant Leadership Monitor, and Eurasia Daily Monitor; Jane’s Intelligence Review-China Watch; Johns Hopkins SAIS Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst; and the International Journal of Not-for-Profit Law. He has been cited by BBC, Washington Post, al-Jazeera, CNN, Voice of America, Deutsche Welle, South China Morning Post, and Toronto Star. In February 2013, he testified before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats, on "Islamist Militant Threats to Eurasia." Mr. Zenn graduated as a Global Law Scholar from Georgetown Law in 2011 and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) Nanjing Center for Chinese-American Studies in Nanjing, China in 2007.
